SKE48, established on July 31, 2008, is a large Japanese girl idol group centered on Nagoya City and headed by Yasushi Akimoto as the chief producer. SKE48 takes its name from Sakae (SAKAE in English) of Nagoya, and has a dedicated performance venue called SKE48 Theater at SUNSHINE SAKAE. Based on the concept of "idols who can face each other", performances are performed in dedicated theaters almost every day.
